The Sr. Associate position will be driving key Fraud Infrastructure Solution initiatives across Discover Financial Services credit card systems and processes. The successful candidate will assume product owner responsibilities and will be instrumental in building system capabilities that address existing gaps and/or enhance the infrastructure enabling the detection and handling of fraud activity. They will also identify solutions to business challenges and work collaboratively across diverse business units to bring the solutions to fruition.
This role is multi-faceted, requiring a mixture of analytics, technical knowledge, communication, problem solving, presentation skills, and collaboration with key partners across businesses. It also provides the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the applications and systems supporting business activities and processes across the Fraud lifecycle and how the interdependencies between the two govern possible business strategies.
Key Responsibilities *Responsible for driving work streams aimed at enhancing and/or transforming system capabilities for the fraud value stream *Develop a strong understanding of the current Fraud systems across products and channels to identify gaps and develop solutions to address them *Establish relationships with existing and potential business partners to understand business needs *Convert business needs in to technical requirements through either detailed requirement documentation or grooming a product backlog *Leverage problem solving and negotiation skills to identify optimal solutions to deliver on business value and time to market *Quantify the measures of success for a project and convert that in to a case benefit analysis *Communicate and present project status and results to business partners and management
Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and practices.
upto 1 year of technical experience with the software development lifecycle and/or data management *Excellent verbal, written, communication, presentation, professional speaking skills *Adept at using data to perform process evaluations *Skilled in collaboration, negotiation and the ability to resolve conflicts *Experience influencing others without authority and providing thought leadership * B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
Project management experience, with the ability to develop milestone driven timelines
