Provide the bank with a sound, independent and objective assessment and recommendation associated with large, complicated structured credit proposals for corporations, real estate and retail enterprises, as well as supervise, motivate and train a team of analysts as designated by the Credit Analysis Manager.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze and provide an objective assessment of complex borrowing entities and loan request, which includes the underwriting of loans such as, Lines of Credit, Syndications, Construction (ADC) and Income Producing loans, Term Loans, Leases, Letters of Credit or Trade related facilities, Asset Base Lending, EximBank Guaranteed/Insured loans, etc.
Will serve as back up for other supervisory role functions in the department
Assist lending officers in the structuring and explanation of loan request to approving entity.
Assist the Credit Analysis Manager in the training of new credit analysts. Specifically, assist the trainees in the following: adopting the operating procedures of the department, the various formats used, and credit criteria applied to the different types of analysis and understanding the credit policy of the Bank.
Perform portfolio monitoring activities according to the policies and procedures of the Bank.
May be requested to perform other duties and responsibilities as needed by management.
Minimum Job Requirements
BA in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration/Economics.
Five years' experience in banking in the areas of lending or credit.
Credit analysis experience of at least four years, including credit risk evaluation of real estate and corporate/institutional facilities.
Solid understanding of accounting and financial principles in order to accurately and efficiently conduct financial statement analysis, assess projections, and prepare sensitivity analyses of different scenarios and industries.
Understanding of appraisal practices and of specific costs and operating expenses of construction and income producing loans.
Have a clear understanding of future cash flow and repayment risk in order to reach a conclusion in regards to strength, risk rating and structure of the proposed facility (covenants, financial structure, etc.).
Ability to meet deadlines, multi task and work independently and produce high quality financial analyses, including credit risk evaluation and loan structuring.
Advanced knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.
Working knowledge of financial statement spreading software.
Detailed oriented, superior math skills, good analytical and writing skills a must.
Ability to work as a team leader and as an independent senior analyst.
Understanding of the Bank's credit policy and products.
Preferably bilingual, English-Spanish.
