Overview:
This position is part of the Customer Insights and Analytics Team at Sysco Corporation. The primary focus is to conduct advanced analytics with big data to get insights for Executives, Sales and Marketing teams. The analysis performed by this role will be critical in setting the priorities for the overall strategic and marketing plan for Sysco corporation at a corporate, field and customer level.
Responsibilities:
  • Build predictive analytics models with Python to generate actionable insights at the level of individual customers, such as cross-sell opportunities and churn prediction
  • Support the development of personalized customer engagement engine to generate customer insights for various teams, such as field sales, e-commerce and direct-to-customer communication teams
  • Work with Sysco technology team to build the customer data-mart, which is the foundation of data-driven and customer-centric marketing initiatives
  • Identify and derive insights regarding customer behaviors and preferences across various sales and marketing channels to inform customer data-mart
  • Support the launch of customer loyalty program with relevant customer insights to drive the right customer behavior and increase customer loyalty
  • Support the creation of presentation slides for executives, regarding customer insights across various business units, such as FreshPoint, Meat Co, USBL, Guest Supply
Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's Degree of Statistics, Computer Science or other similar advanced degrees from a top tier educational institution
  • 5+ years of experience with top-tier firms in big data analytics, market research, management consulting, or comparable role in corporate setting
Skills:
Computing
  • Extensive predictive analytics experience with Python
  • Familiarity with statistical software packages (e.g. SAS and R)
  • Familiarity with Access and/or database SQL skills
Analytics
  • Must be able to think conceptually, strategically, and creatively with little oversight or direction (i.e. display thought leadership vs. simply "do" or execute something that was developed or directed by someone else)
  • Intellectually curious, open to new ideas, hypothesis-driven, and fact-based
  • Very comfortable working with ambiguity (e.g. imperfect data, loosely defined concepts, ideas, or goals) and translating these into more tangible outputs
  • Able to perform quantitative analysis using appropriate analytical tools. Requires expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access to develop and troubleshoot reports. In depth knowledge of incorporating macros, pivot tables, conditional formatting, 'if then' statements and 'V lookup' functions into reports
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power-point and its capabilities and functionality in representing data and analysis for presentation purposes.
  • Requires strong organizational and time management skills as analysis are frequently performed with a short turnaround time frame;
  • Requires strong review skills as analysis must be accurate when presented to executives; Requires trouble shooting reports for unusual results which indicate reporting errors.
  • Able to distill complex ideas and approaches to their essence and present them in a simplified, yet compelling manner
  • Methodical, hands-on, resourceful, and detail-oriented approach to problem solving and analytical research
Communication
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to use various innovative media from structured PowerPoint presentations to videos and images to 'tell the story' for executive and frontline audiences
  • Excellent interviewing and presentation skills appropriate for both small and large group settings and with audiences ranging from the executive level to middle management
