LinkedIn's Business Analytics team uses data analysis to drive our monetization efforts. Our team is rapidly reinventing the way that proprietary data analysis can drive sales / marketing efforts and product decisions. We now need a talented and driven Sr. Data Scientist to accelerate our efforts and be a major part of our data-centric culture. We're looking for a hands-on professional who is passionate about mining big data, turning data into insights, and making an impact through rigorous analysis, creative storytelling and timely actions. This person will play a significant role on product analytics for our sales solution business and work closely with Product, Marketing, Engineering and Data Services teams to develop and deliver data-driven tools, insights, and ultimately drive the company's monetization efforts.
The Sr. Data Scientist will play a significant role on an expanding team consisting of business analysts and domain experts in data mining and big data analytics applications. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: •Overall, a highly driven, results-oriented, creative and nimble problem solver and a willingness to do "whatever it takes" to deliver business value quickly. •Partner with cross-functional teams to lead or contribute to large scale strategic projects as well as ongoing operational activities. •Analyze massive scale structure and unstructured data to drive actionable insights at both a product and user level. •Lead and drive business strategies by leveraging LinkedIn data; make recommendations on product improvements and monetization strategies. •Effectively communicates complex analytics to broader audience in writing and presentation formats.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE •Advanced degree in quantitative fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Operational Research, Statistics, and Economics. Top-tier performance ratings from current and prior employers. •2+ years' experience in Analytics, within the relevant domains of Internet marketing, media and advertising, social network, etc. •Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to synthesize, simplify and explain complex problems to different types of audience. Comfortable to lead and influence without authority. •Data expert, can translate business requirements into detailed technical requirements and project plans. •Advanced knowledge of big data analytics technology stack, statistical analysis software, and scripting languages - Hadoop/Pig/Hive/ Hbase/Teradata/Tableau/MicroStrategy; Python/PERL/RUBY. •Working knowledge of ETL, SQL tuning, and efficient coding techniques.
