We are looking for an innovative and experienced SQL Server DBA to lead our database operations and strategy. Your role will be to own our back-end database, including design, development, performance tuning, and replication.

Your key responsibilities will be -

Technical leadership in designing, developing, administering, and optimizing our SQL server databases and environment.
Define and further develop database physical structure and functional capabilities, database security, database backup, and recovery specifications.
Evangelize database coding optimization standards, including best practices for table design, query writing, use of functions, etc.
Optimize database performance tuning.
Maintain system updates, services patches, and compatibility.
Forecast and allocate database storage.
Actively monitor production to provide recommendations on how to predict and avoid issues.
Work effectively with management and team members to clarify needs and priorities.
Own feature areas and deliverables from the database perspective.
Ensure adequate testing of all product releases and updates.
Continually grow skills to enhance your technical expertise.

You will have -

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Extensive experience with SQL Server.
In-depth knowledge database administration and optimization.
In-depth knowledge of TSQL: stored procedures, understanding of general database structure.
Broad experience in troubleshooting.
Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a results-oriented, fast-paced dynamic environment.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

Masters degree in relevant major.

How will your lofty goals be translated into specific actions / short term goals -

Within first 30 days, you will quickly get familiarized with architecture, systems and current process and tools.
By the end of the first quarter, you should be able to contribute to the successful delivery of a feature.
Within 6-9 months, you will publicize and teach best practices for database development.
