Sr. Desktop Merchant- Consumer Direct

The Dell Consumer Merchandising Team is looking for a highly motivated and autonomous leader to join our fast paced & challenging business as the Desktop PC Merchant in the Consumer Direct Business. The Desktop Buyer will have direct P&L responsibility for Desktop Computing which is one of the key categories and business drivers in the organization. It is important the candidate for this role be comfortable with process improvements, has an excellent attention to detail, and can successfully interact with people at many different levels in the organization. Additionally, robust attention to detail, autonomy, and problem solving of highly technical issues is critical. We are looking for a strong team player with a positive, energetic and "can-do" attitude with a strong work ethic.
Own the GTM strategy and P&L for the category
Manage the daily/weekly/quarterly unit, revenue and margin targets along with market share goals
Lead the category management direction in pricing, product, placement, and promotion
Develop and oversee the GTM pricing strategy along with competitive response
As related to products, he/she will own the assortment and product positioning as well as the identification and promotion of products required to meet customer’s needs
The channel strategy for this role includes how to best optimize the assortment across the Consumer Direct Business which entails Dell.com, the offline business & key verticals
Develop and lead the execution of the promotional strategy including key hero campaigns including Black Friday, Cyber Monday, President’s Day, Back to School and many others along with the execution of Dell’s CRM strategy
Integrate a critical Gaming initiative into the Desktop portfolio- driving strategy units, revenue, and margin in the gaming space while growing share in the PC gaming segment
The Merchant will work collaboratively with several groups to execute and achieve goals and KPI’s including Sales Ops, Marketing, Supply Chain, Online, Retail, Pricing, Product Group, and Finance. He/she must be able to influence other Dell Team Members from other areas of business in order to achieve metrics. A strong balance of analytical & creative skills is needed to manage and bring Dell Desktops to market. Successful execution of the sales plan and performance in a cross-functional environment are a must for this role.
Four year degree and 8 years of relevant business experience
Proven track record of driving technology sales
Merchandising and/or direct consumer sales background
Deep understanding of gaming market
Solid product knowledge
