POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The position will perform discovery, design and review of data quality control solutions and is responsible for data quality service delivery.   The successful candidate will provide recommendations and enhancements to data control procedures within the enterprise master data platform, operational data store, data warehouse and various data marts.  Additionally, the role includes support of projects that have data profiling and/or control requirements. The successful candidate will engage with the data quality group to understand requirements and implement proper data quality controls both through inflight ETL processes and pre/post data movement process.
 
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is the design, implementation and maintenance of the data quality framework and is required to deliver integrated data quality solutions to technical and non-technical users.  The Senior Developer will be required to: 
  • Interpret written business requirements, functional requirements and technical specification documents to design and develop technical solutions that meet business needs
  • Collaborate with IT and Business partners to design, develop, and troubleshoot end to end technical solutions
  • Perform system design and specification development, program logic and flow-charting that meets the stated project objectives
  • Identifies and manages dependencies and downstream impacts of the project to minimize adverse effects on other projects and / or programs
  • Provide status and progress updates
  • Identify and communicate technical risks, issues, and changes
  • Perform coding to written technical specifications
  • Contribute to design review meetings with other members of Application Development
  • Perform complex defect verification, debugging, testing and support
  • Investigate, analyze and document reported defects
  • Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates that meet SDLC standards

 



QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required Skills:
  • 5-7 years in IT specifically regarding Data Warehousing, ETL and Operational Data Store initiatives
  • Data Profiling/IA (3-4 yrs), DataStage/QualityStage (5-7 yrs), Information Analyzer (3-4 yrs) and strong SQL Experience
  • Experience in User Interaction, Business Analysis, Development, Integration, Documentation, Testing, Deployment, Building, Configuration and Production/Customer support, Maintenance and Enhancements applications
  • Expertise in Extraction, Cleansing, Validating and Integrating of data from multiple systems.
  • Hands on experience in Transforming Business specific rules into functional Specs
  • Experience with Data Quality and how controls tie into Data Quality
  • Strong understanding of differences in various data quality controls
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise wide data control initiatives
  • Proven knowledge and experience working with Data Quality analysts, subject matter experts and data stewards
  • Experience in Integration of various data sources like Teradata, DB2 UDB, SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and MS-Access
  • 2-4 years of experience in writing database procedures, functions and fine-tuning SQL for performance optimization
  • Experience in writing Shell Scripts to automate file manipulation and data loading procedures
  • Experience handling multiple tasks and to work independently as well as in a team, experienced in interacting with Business/Technology group
 
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with Hadoop, Cloudera/Navigator, or any Big Data technologies will be a big plus
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse Architecture, Star Schema, Snow flake Schema, Fact tables and Dimensional tables
