JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for leading strategic development in support of Charter’s fixed and mobile wireless product portfolio, which includes WiFi and Cellular based products and services. Applies expert knowledge on wireless technologies, industry and consumer trends to define and deliver a multi-year roadmap for Charter’s wireless product portfolio. Reports to the VP of Wireless Products and works independently, leading cross-functional teams including direct reports as required.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience leading product development, a deep knowledge of the wireless industry and a vision for how Charter can leverage wireless technology to extend our product and service offerings.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads wireless product strategy development, identifying and developing future product opportunities in both fixed and mobile service. Responsible for understanding competitive products and consumer trends in the wireless space, incorporating those into the product roadmap, and ensuring competitiveness of future Charter products.

Plans sequencing and resources, including partners, spectrum and employment of existing Charter assets necessary to support a wireless product deployment, ultimately into full product roadmap development.

Leads the Product organizations understanding of wireless technologies and spectrum, both licensed and unlicensed, and opportunities present in each. Candidate should have deep understanding of WiFI, WiGig, LAA-LTE, 4G, NB-LTE, Cat-M, 5G and other relevant wireless technologies.

Maintains a strong technical knowledge of wireless technologies and ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering groups. Ensure alignment between the business operational strategies and technical solutions.

Plans and identifies infrastructure options supporting deployment of wireless equipment, including mounting rights for both macro and small cell deployment, backhaul and device powering.

Identifies and educates the organization on wireless regulatory obstacles and opportunities with regard to both licensed and unlicensed spectrum at the federal, state and local level.

Manages capital budgets of related product development initiatives.

Develops effective partnerships between the Product team and the other supporting functional organizations (Engineering, Software Development, IT, Operations, 3rd Party suppliers, etc.) to properly structure the product requirements.

Strong background and experience in wireless technologies – WiFi, fixed and mobile technologies
Understanding of spatial analytics and Geographic Information Systems

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing or related field
Master’s degree in an applicable field preferred
