Dell has an immediate need for a Senior Director of Engineering for our Data Domain data protection storage products. In this key leadership role, reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will lead a team of highly skilled architects and engineers that are designing the next generation architecture that will redefine data protection storage, as well as delivering enhancements to existing products.
+ Provide leadership, guidance, and vision to a diverse engineering team (Onshore and Offshore).
+ Manage the software development process to routinely ship software on budget and on schedule; responsible for technical and management review of projects.
+ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional peers and teams including Product Management (roadmap development, priority setting, etc.), Operations (budget planning, HC requests, etc.), and Program Management (Report Outs, Delivery Dates, Product Lifecycle Measurements, etc.).
+ Present to VP’s and President of Division on project state, status, and updates.
+ Responsible for leading the release planning, resource loading, goal setting and measurement.
**Background, Skill, and Experience that we are looking for:**
+ Data Protection, Storage, and File System knowledge and experience.
+ Expertise in enterprise software architectures and related standards and technologies.
+ Leadership experience (Director or VP level preferred) for a global organization; must have experience managing both onshore and offshore teams concurrently.
+ Proven ability to drive and deliver quality software as a “Number 1” priority with a passion for developing outstanding software products.
+ Ability to recruit, motivate, retain, and effectively develop/manage a diverse group of talented software engineers
+ Strong leadership, teamwork, collaboration, and communication skills; must be exceptional at presenting and influencing at VP/SVP/Division President level.
+ Knowledge of Business Applications, Software Project Management, Estimation Methodologies, and Agile development processes.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and ensure successful adoption of processes and best practices.
