As the leader of the Innovation & Pipeline team, the Senior Director leads new product strategy, development and product enhancements to maximize portfolio commercial viability and profitability and ensure that product end of life management is conducted systematically in the best interests of our customers and internal stakeholders.  The role encompasses managing the BGM, Insulin Delivery, Digital innovation pipeline and development of key business partnerships. 
 
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
 
  • Align organizational and marketing resources to design, develop and deliver meaningful digital and new product innovation for BGM and Insulin Delivery to drive OneTouch sales, share and competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • Partner seamlessly with R&D and lead cross-functional teams to manage development of new products and commercialization strategies for Tier 1 markets. 
  • Serve as the Marketing lead for the Product Leadership Teams on all upstream initiatives. Identify and pursue cost savings to improve Gross Profit for the franchise.
     
     
  • Shape innovation and pipeline strategies to address key unmet needs and external trends in the marketplace via new product launches, evidence and claims generation, and integrated, connected digital engagement. 
  • Define white space opportunities and partner with Business Development to identify and assess internal and external strategies to address the opportunities. 
  • Oversee external strategic alliances.
     
  • Strong understanding of different archetypes across markets (payer, professional, consumer) as well as experience with Emerging Markets.
  • Effective interface with internal and external stakeholders, including Regional Marketing leads, Regional VP's, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, Medical Affairs, Finance and Business Development.
  • Ability to seek out and incorporate the voice of the customer into innovation plans while influencing and driving the global brand strategy.
     
  • Lead and develop team to build a world-class marketing organization, demonstrating ability to connect across J&J to tap into enterprise expertise (e.g. DCoE, J&J Design, Janssen data sciences, Health & Wellness Solutions) and advance JJDCC marketing capabilities, particularly in the areas of digital and e-Commerce. 
  • This role will have 2 direct reports and 8 indirect reports.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a MBA is preferred.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required. 
  • Healthcare experience with medical device, diagnostics, consumer or pharma is required.
  • Project management with experience managing multiple projects at once is strongly preferred .     
  • Ability to work independently, proactively and manage to timelines is required.
  • Experience developing new products from concept to commercialization is required.
  • Track record in talent development and leading cross cultural teams is required.
  • Cross-cultural / cross-functional communication (demonstrated ability to address diverse global needs) is required. 
  • This position requires 30% travel both domestic and international.
  • This position will be located Wayne, PA.
