Oversee the financial reporting and client management of the region's portfolio of communities by providing accounting leadership and staff management of our shared services general ledger department. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Manage the preparation and delivery of client financial statement packages for our portfolio of Condominium and/or Homeowners Associations following the quality standards as instructed by Management. Responsible for the shared services general ledger department including the assignment, supervision and review of all accounting and reporting schedules including financial statement packages, monthly financial analysis and ongoing budget variances. Manage preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules. Provide direction and training on analysis of the Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts for accuracy. Ongoing management and development of the region's shared service team (90+) accountants. Create and manage relationships with each location supported by the department, including Presidents, VP's, RD's, Community Association Managers and Field Support/Client Relations. Establish strategic and working partnerships with other Client Accounting departments (across the organization), as appropriate. Creating and managing metrics and SLAs which ensure efficiency, financial accuracy and customer service targets are being met and timely and effective communication occurs. Determine the workflow for all monthly accounting that streamlines and maximizes the resources dedicated to this effort. Leading initiatives to ensure continuous process improvement in all accounting activities. Ensure timely issue identification, resolution and escalation when appropriate within leadership teams throughout the organization and field management. Responsible for ensuring internal accounting practices and controls are in accordance with GAAP and established statutory requirements. Participate in internal and external audits as required. Responsible for understanding industry standards and best practices, keeping current with industry trends, and understanding and evaluating complex financial and association's business functions and processes. Review and analyze process flow of transactions from Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable to ensure how best to accurately coded and recorded. Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Accounting or Finance, from an accredited college or university, and minimum of five (5) years of supervisory responsibility. Active CPA license, IS REQUIRED. Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates thoughtful leadership in creating efficiencies and process improvements. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills and multi-tasking skills. Must have strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet maintenance, navigating in databases, record keeping and researching the Internet. Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information. Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven Critical thinking, problem solving, judgement and decision making abilities.
