Embedded Escalation Engineer(EEE) is a new strategic role created based on cloud-first modern approach. This role brings customer focus culture to engineering escalations, drives support enablement opportunities (tooling and diagnostics) and adopts data driven approaches to improve support tooling, product quality.
The successful candidate will embrace customer focus culture with the passion for technology and possess comprehensive troubleshooting skills, strong collaboration skills, expert decision making, ability to build broad relationships with engineering and supportability, leveraging those relationships to increase CPE. If you think you have what it takes to handle technically challenging and politically hot customer situations, has strong tolerance for managing through ambiguity and uncertainty and a passion for driving engineering escalations, product/tooling improvements, then this is the job for you.
Leading engineering investigations to bring quicker issue resolution
Transferring knowledge the Azure support teams to resolve customer issues on first contact
Build solutions, help create tools, and help automate issue detection, diagnosis to enable self-serve
Drive Product improvements by filing impactful bugs use bug impact analysis to help developers to fix, ship the fixes to production to prevent customer impact.
Partner with the supportability, engineering to enhance and improve product quality
Candidate would initially focus on Azure Storage, Azure Networking or Azure Compute stack.
- Cloud Computing, Microsoft Azure architecture and its components (Compute, Storage, CloudNet)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Platform services
- Windows OS fundamentals, Hyper-V
- Networking VIPs, NAT, DNS , VPN, Virtual Networks, OSI model
Tools: ping, tracert, tracemon, NetMon, wire shark, etc.)
-Load balancing, geo-redundancy, CDN
-Experience with C# and .NET, PowerShell, CLI, Microsoft Azure
- Service engineering and/or DevOps experience at internet scale involving user data and/or software development for an enterprise level service
At least 4-6 years of Technical Escalation Support experience (in a Tier 2/3 environment) including experience in a customer-facing or technical support role
B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Preferred certification: MCP Exam 70-533: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions
