We are looking for a talented person for the role of Senior Embedded Software Developer. Our team is building next generation devices & accessories to complement Surface product experience. Products are your passion, and no detail is too small to ignore.

This role has an option to be an independent contributor or team lead based on your seniority and experience.

Job Description:
Design and deliver embedded software (firmware), drivers, tools, and OS components for multiple products.

Demonstrate experience of debugging software/hardware interaction during product development.
Assist with hardware bring-up, third-party driver integration, driver validation, and device manufacturing.
Keep up with developments in the field, add insight and innovation to our work.

Tasks:
Embedded software development, debug and testing.
Provide technical guidance on embedded software architectures and subsystems.
Work with Microsoft cross functional teams to identify software requirements and dependencies.
Work with external vendors and manage the integration of different embedded assets.
Assist with test case development, interoperability testing, and self-hosting.

Main Requirements:
5+ Years of embedded software development experience.
Ability to debug embedded systems, including both software & hardware
Good knowledge of one or more of following: RTOS, connectivity (BT, Wifi, USB), audio, graphics, power mgmt., memory mgmt.,), or other Core OS domains.
Good communication skills and ability to work across multiple disciplines and functions.
Team leading experience is a plus.
