Job Summary

 

Crowe Horwath is seeking a Senior Government Consultant to join our San Francisco or Sacramento office.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define solutions to meet client needs and address critical issues and business challenges
  • Assist in developing written proposals and engagement work plans
  • Assist with performance and compliance audits, examinations, and reviews
  • Assist with financial and economic modeling and analyses for State and local government clients
  • Assist with utility rate setting projects used to develop regulated rates and rate structures
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients
  • Collect and analyze background documents and research best practices
  • Identify and document potential performance improvement initiatives and new business processes
  • Interview and facilitate meetings with client staff and stakeholders
  • Document workload, staffing, technology systems, and costs
  • Prepare written documents and presentations
  • Make presentations to city councils and boards of supervisors

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, accounting or economics
  • 3-5 years of consulting experience
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
  • A track record of producing high-quality work products on-time and within budget
  • Ability to be flexible and to learn quickly about different client programs
  • Ability to work independently and contribute as a member of the project team
  • The applicant must be proficient with Microsoft Office software (i.e., Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Ability to work closely with project manager and other team members to drive project results
  • Solid project planning and management skills
  • Understands business process concepts and principles

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or MPA Graduate degree
  • CPA
  • 5 years of consulting experience specifically with public sector clients
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Project Management Professional certification
  • Business Process certificationEOEM/F/D/V
