JOB TITLE: Sr Human Resources Generalist


JOB SUMMARY
The Sr Human Resources Generalist role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of policies and programs, balancing employee advocacy and business operation needs. Promotes equity, fair treatment and positive employee relations while ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws. Provides comprehensive HR support with assigned functional organization in the area of recruitment and retention of critical talent, continuous performance coaching and management, pro-active issue/problem identification and resolution, and coaching and development for more effective leadership decision and communication skills.

The ideal candidate will understand and support the accomplishment of business priorities. Builds credible relationships with people leaders allowing for better decisions and organizational effectiveness. Involved in solving complex HR-related issues. Work independently with minimal guidance. Works well within a team environment and act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works in partnership with people leaders on the execution of functional business vision, mission, goals and business objectives. Understands business challenges, influences and initiatives owned by the function leader(s) to align HR strategy and initiatives

Provides guidance to people leaders and employees on human resources issues, employment law, and programs and initiatives

Acts as a liaison with the HR Centers of Excellence to facilitate seamless human resources service delivery

Performs employee relations functions in a fast past environment, including coaching for success, performance management, problem solving, dispute resolution, and terminations. Investigates complex and sensitive employee related issues and ensures appropriate action

Assures Company and business unit policies are administered fairly and consistently throughout the functional area of responsibility; effectively communicates and executes necessary changes to policies and procedures

Utilizes data to improve business function effectiveness; evaluates data to identify trends and drives necessary changes to positively influencing organizational change

Executes human capital, performance management and/or organization design solutions that meet the business needs, carefully weighing solutions that may set precedent or require significant change management efforts; assesses problems or issues for greater impact; ensures solutions are consistent with business objectives. Recommends methods to minimize or prevent future issues


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English proficiently
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner

Strong PC skills and MS Office skills

Knowledge of local, state and federal employment laws and procedures

Knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws

Education
High School Diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED)
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, organizational development or related area preferred
Human Resource certification
