Primary Role
A Sr. Logistics Analyst uses analytical methods and a variety of tools to understand, predict, improve and/or control Logistics operations and processes. Sr. Logistics Analysts are responsible for data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support Logistics management. Solves problems by considering courses of action within the framework of organization goals and standards.

Operates with minimal supervision and once given general assignments, prioritizes and executes tasks. Mentors and guides Logistics Analysts in daily work tasks. Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, able to support and lead multiple projects, possess excellent communication skills, work well with a team, interact with multiple levels and functions within the Logistics organization, and able to manage vendor/business relationships. Functions include complex spreadsheet analysis of critical 3PL W&D performance data and expediting critical and time-sensitive shipments. Able to work with less supervision and on more complex assignments than the Logistics Analyst position.

Responsibilities
20%: Create/design complex business tools and methods to distribute information to customers and suppliers. Control logistics process and develop strategies to ensure timely receipt; delivery and customer satisfaction.
15%: Manage and lead logistics projects ensuring timelines are met, budgets are contained and compliance to regulations
10%: Educate and consult with internal & external stakeholders to increase service, meet expectations, and encourage developing markets through open communications and by developing trusting relationships
10%: Initiate and lead in cross-functional, cross-business initiatives. Drive initiatives to completion with little or no supervision.
10%: Enforce the corporate compliance as it pertains to the warehousing & transportation of goods domestically and internationally.
10%: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through strategic thinking, critical thinking and analysis. Design, lead and implement programs to achieve these improvements, with little or no supervision
10%: Performs data management through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping, and/or problem analysis; while executing day to day processes related to area of responsibility. Develops and maintains cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models. Supports the business through ad-hoc queries, and maintains reports from a variety of resources as specific to department or organizational needs.
10%: Monitor, track and report on 3PL KPI's and W&D costs. Estimate W&D accruals and support month end financial close for regional W&D costs
5%: Manage logistics pipeline between supplier and customer through manipulating and analyzing raw data from numerous sources.

Education & Experience Requirements
Essential:
  • BS in Engineering/Operations/Logistics/Finance or similar degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in Logistics
  • 2-3 years of experience in managing one or more 3PL's
Desired:
  • MBA or MS in Engineering/Operations/Logistics or similar degree
  • APICS certification
Other Requirements
  • 20-30% domestic travel
  • 5-10% international travel to Canada and Puerto Rico
