    • Complete all daily assigned work orders, troubleshoot equipment failures.
    • Perform assigned Preventative Maintenance work and necessary repairs of facility, manufacturing, utility equipment.
    • Supports facility, manufacturing, utility improvement initiatives
    • Respond to alarm conditions related to the operation of the Plant and complete necessary documentation.
    • Operate and maintain site electrical distribution system.
    • Operate and maintain emergency/backup power generation systems. Including generators, automatic transfer switches and switches gears.
    • Operate and maintain UPS.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting/problem solving skills in the area of process automation and electrical power distribution are a must.
  • Must be knowledgeable with respect to the operation and maintenance of various utility systems including WFI, RO, clean steam, plant steam, compressed air, carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen, boilers and wastewater.
  • Must be knowledgeable with respect to the operation and maintenance of various manufacturing systems such as lyophillizers, dry heat tunnels, LN2 baths, packaging equipment, bioreactors, process valves, pumps, motors, etc.
  • Posses very strong verbal and written communication skills, documentation practices (cGDPs), be self-motivated and posses strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of utility equipment, using blue prints, equipment manuals, specifications, standard operating procedures, and be able to use proper judgment when taking corrective actions during equipment malfunction.
  • Posses strong mechanical knowledge and skills on utility equipment.
  • Have working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and their disposal, OSHA and FDA requirements.
  • Demonstrate continuous progress with respect to increasing job knowledge and proficiency in technical understanding/problem solving.
  • Display a positive, professional and customer oriented attitude.
  • Must display personal accountability for results.
  • Must be able to navigate, conduct searches, and fill on line forms on Personal Computer for the purposes of training, performance management, and self service applications.
  • Must have the ability to navigate electronic mail systems and intranet for communication purposes.

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years combination of education, training and experience in a cGMP related environment in one of the following fields: Electrical Maintenance, Process Electrical Maintenance, Automation Electrical Maintenance or Industrial, Commercial or Residential Journey man electrician.
Working Environment
  • This position may require 10-12 hour shifts, overtime, off hour work, weekend and holiday work.
  • Must be able to work in controlled or clean room environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in these work environments.
  • The incumbent must work in a clean room environment wearing special garments. Additionally, personal protective equipment must be worn due to safety requirements.
  • May work in a cold, wet environment.
  • May be exposed to sunlight and heat.
  • May be exposed to dust, gases, and fumes.
  • May be around moving equipment and machinery.
  • May climb up and into large processing tanks for cleaning or inspection.
  • May be working in a loud area that requires hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn.
  • May work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and celite that may require respiratory protection.
  • May be required to work or be assigned to a different shift as needed.
  • Must be able to work more than 8 hours a day or 40 hours a workweek as required.
  • This position requires shift, weekend and holiday work.

  • May require simple grasping with hands/arms between 3-4 hours.
  • May require power grasping with hands/arms between 1-2 hours.
  • May require fine manipulation with hands/arms up to 1 hour.
  • May require pushing/pulling with hands/arms between 1-2 hours.
  • May require office work activities with hands/arms between 1-2 hours.
  • May be required to gown frequently and balance when gowning into clean areas.
  • May be exposed to noise above 85 dBA. This may require hearing protection and other protective equipment to be worn.
  • May be required to drive cars, trucks, forklifts and other equipment. Will be required to drive to other facilities to support manufacturing and calibrations.
  • May be required to walk on uneven ground.

  • May be exposed to dust, gases, chemicals, liquid Nitrogen, and fumes in Suite A. May require respiratory protection.
