Role Summary:

Provide technical leadership in defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development and infrastructure. Manage a team of 10 quality assurance engineers in designing and implementing quality processes and quality metrics for cloud and premise based applications. Analyze changes and new features to the product based on functional and design requirements, recommending appropriate test strategies.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and code test cases in Java, TestNG, Cucumber, Protractor, Selenium, Jmeter, Load Runner and UFT. Interact with customer support to collect data and identify areas within the product that may not meet supportability and quality standards. Drive increased efficiency across teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse.

In this role, you will:

+ Work with various GE Digital development teams to develop cloud and premise based applications and services leveraging Enterprise Agile Software development methodologies

+ Develop and deliver software test automation suites required for improving the performance, availability, and manageability of our cloud and premise based applications

+ Define and evangelize software test automation optimizations and best practices to improve productivity and performance of the QA team

+ Develop automation standards consistent with the technologies across GE Digital QA teams

+ Troubleshoot and remedy availability/performance issues on production environments

+ Collaborate with Customer Support teams to perform root cause analysis and implement Agile process improvements to address process gaps

+ Manage the QA team on release deliverables, software quality assurance strategy, test automation, and technical career paths

Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

+ A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software engineering OR Master's degree with 8 years

+ Minimum 1 year of experience in an engineering leadership / management role

+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in Boston, Massachusetts

+ Must be willing to travel (10%)

Technical Expertise:

+ Extensive experience in Agile Software Development methodologies in Cloud and Premise based technologies

+ Extensive experience in developing functional and performance test automation frameworks

+ Demonstrated experience and ability to manage a QA team for the purposes of developing software test automation and metrics reporting

+ Experience testing web services (SOAP/REST; Throughput, Performance under Load, etc.)

+ Experience with issue-tracking and agile project management systems such as Jira, GreenHopper, Confluence, Rally, etc.

+ Experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows environments.

+ Experience working with virtual machines (VMs) as part of a test/integration infrastructure
