The Sr Manager US Biosimilars Pricing role is part of the company Essential Health (PEH) business unit (formerly the company Global Established Pharmaceutical (GEP) organization) in the US Biosimilars group. Reporting to Director Value Marketing, US Biosimilars, the Senior Manager Pricing will be responsible for developing, championing and implementing pricing and contracting strategy for the US Biosimilar portfolio of new pharmaceutical product launches across managed markets, hospital systems, and group purchasing organization (GPO) customer segments. The Senior Manager will work closely with biosimilar senior marketing leadership, sales leadership and brand value marketing teams to support new product launches and grow the US biosimilar business.
S/he will act as brand champion including soliciting feedback and input, arranging regular update meetings, strategy creation and presentations to senior leadership. Interactions will include Senior PEH executive team presentations, Finance, Payer Channel Access (PCA), Payer Marketing and Customer Analytics, wholesale and distributor trade groups to align on optimal channel strategy, health economics, Global Marketing, Global Value, Legal, US biosimilars brand team, US biosimilars field force, PEH Account management team (Payer and Hospital), Customers (large hospital and clinic group purchasing organizations/GPOs and trade partners).
Buy and Bill for infused biologics products:
• Develop pricing and contracting strategy for the US biosimilar portfolio to maximize net revenue growth and market penetration across target segments.
• Deliverables include recommendations to senior leadership on initial net price and optimal competitive response strategies for pipeline, launch and in line assets
•Initiatives include: identifying and prioritizing must win segments in the clinic, hospital and payer environments; designing and implementing primary research programs to assess price sensitivity by segment; creating pricing models to develop and assess contracting strategy; developing competitive response strategies; monitoring the evolving buy and bill reimbursement landscape to identify threats and opportunities; post launch monitor and report to senior leadership on performance and competitor response and adapt strategy as appropriate
• Develop channel strategy for the US biosimilar portfolio to maximize net revenue growth and market penetration across target segments.
• Deliverables would include recommendations to senior leadership on optimal distribution strategy by channel for the US biosimilar portfolio
Initiatives would include: assessing competitor distribution landscape; partnering with the finance, account management, brand team, and trade groups to align on optimal channel strategy ; act as brand champion in negotiation process with large Group purchasing organizations and key trade partners
•Occasional travel will include, customer visits, Launch Meetings, POAs, market research, etc.
• This position can be located in either north suburban Chicago/Lake Forest, IL or New York, NY; relocation provided
We seek a high performing individual who has:
•Bachelor's degree in business, economics or other highly analytical discipline required; MBA preferred
•5+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience - biologics required
• Buy and bill markets expereince
•Demonstrated ability to analyze secondary and primary data and identify opportunities for growth and or competitive threats
•Ability to think strategically and produce creative approaches to business challenges
•Track record of effectively and efficiently driving performance within a matrix organization
• Biosimilar Area Knowledge, and Customer / Competitive insights a plus
