This available position is with an organization that is considered to be a thriving leader in the Payment industry. The right candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME preferred) and 5-10 years advanced ProE (Creo) or SolidWorks CAD software experience is required. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will work on the product development team developing a new consumer-facing point-of-sale device that facilitates customer payment applications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Will work with a team of cross-functional engineers to generate design concepts, 3D models, prototypes and eventually 2D detail and assembly documentation. Perform regular mechanical engineering design and analysis. Statistical 3D tolerance stack-up analysis is a must. Basic FEA (linear static) simulation is desired. Experience in designing micro-mechanisms, including latches, hinges and other mechanisms for consumer electronics. Materials selection for a variety of processes including sheet metal fabrication, plastic injection molding and metal casting. Proficient with ProE (Creo) and/or SolidWorks CAD software. Complex surfacing and large assembly modeling/management are desired. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. MSME preferred. Experience with different rapid prototyping technologies, including FDM, SLA/SLS, and CNC-machined prototypes. Broad understanding of Electronics packaging, including EE/PCB CAD collaboration. Knowledge & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. MSME preferred. 5-10 years advanced ProE (Creo) or SolidWorks CAD software experience is required. Complex surfacing and large assembly modeling/management are desired. 5 years minimum experience with 3D modeling. Ability to do complex surfacing is desired. 5+ years minimum Experience creating 2D drawings with formal drafting standards. EE/PCB CAD collaboration. EPDM experience and knowledge preferred. Extensive experience working with sheet metal, plastic injection molding and tooling. Experience with different rapid prototyping technologies. Broad understanding of Electronics packaging. Experience with thermal design/heat transfer, structural design, and materials required. Familiar with different keypad technologies is desired. Familiarity with display and touch panel technology desired. Familiarity with EMC compliance, including wireless devices with antennas desired Component selection experience. Connectors, switches, fasteners and etc. Experience with PCI security standards preferred. Occasional travel to R&D/ customer and vendor sites worldwide may be required.
