Position Summary:
Symantec Corporation and the Global Security Office is seeking a Senior Manager to be based in its global headquarter office located in Mountain View, California, and the position reports to the Senior Director, Security Intelligence Operations. In the Global Security Office, you will have the opportunity to work for the protection of Symantec's information technology, brand, intellectual property, and customer data from misuse or compromise. Security controls have never been more important and as the leader in security solutions, Symantec is a target for malicious cyber activity and theft. The Global Security Office is responsible for all aspects of security at Symantec and, as such, is made up of a diverse, multi-disciplinary and highly talented group of individuals who strive everyday to protect what is most critical to Symantec. We are seeking a leader to influence, drive, and mentor all aspects of the Incident Response Team.

Responsibilities:
o The Senior Manager, Incident Response and Investigations will lead a global team of incident responders.
o The Incident Response Team is responsible for providing rapid proactive and reactive threat response to the Symantec community, including investigating violations of Symantec security policies, thefts of confidential information, and complex cyber incidents involving multiple stakeholders both inside and outside of Symantec. The team is also responsible for program operations.
o The incident Response Team serve as the primary fact-finder and trusted advisor to the Symantec community on security-related events that potentially compromise the Confidentiality, Integrity, or Availability of Symantec data and information, information systems and networks, and computer assets.
o Respond quickly to reports of potential cyber threats, assess the seriousness of events, and develop a strategy for containment and investigation;
o Direct forensic examinations and analyze forensic data for evidentiary value;
o Interview witnesses using knowledge of interviewing techniques;
o Consult with cross-functional team members from a wide variety of corporate departments on investigation strategies and priorities;
o Develop factual findings supported by evidence and detailed, thorough analysis, and perform root cause analysis;
o Document investigation methodologies, and draft comprehensive final reports upon which various stakeholders can rely for legal and business decision-making;
o Work with other teams on remedial strategies, process improvements, and education and training.
o Leverage real world experience to influence product strategy and roadmap

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is expected to have:
o Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience; minimum 5-7 years Information Security experience with minimum 3 years team lead experience.
o 7+ years of experience influencing change in an operational capacity
o 4+ years of experience conducting investigations, preferably including participating in internal corporate investigations and/or security-related audits, with substantial experience conducting witness interviews
o 4+ years of incident response and forensics experience, including proficiency with forensic techniques and the most commonly used forensic toolsets
o CISSP, SANS GCIH, GCED, Network+, Security+, C|EH, ArcSight, Splunk, or other industry-relevant cyber-security certifications are a plus.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate and explain technical security issues into business language for business decision-making and risk assessments
o Knowledgeable in ISMS governance models (ISO 27001), information security roles and responsibilities, controls and risk analysis.
o Familiarity with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux Operating Systems, and with computer system hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
o Functional knowledge of one or more Symantec security products including SEP, DLP, SSIM, SWG, SDCS
Skills and Aptitudes:
o Ability to manage collaboratively within and across organizations, without judgment.
o Superior conflict management skills.
o Strong attention to detail, with ability to drill down into details to ensure accuracy in deliverables
o Solid understanding of security principles, systems, best practices, and risk assessment, in addition to comprehensive understanding of Symantec's security policies, requirements, and processes
o Knowledge of best practices regarding the collection, handling, and preservation of digital and other evidence
o Ability to handle multiple projects, anticipate and respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines
o Self starter with sharp decision making skills, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritize.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence.
o Comfortable working on technical processes and analyses with minimal supervision
