Partner Product Managers (PPMs) are a hybrid of Product Managers and PC OEM Technical Account Managers. They are the interface with all other cross-functional teams at Intel Security and OEM partners. The OEM PPM wears the hat of the OEM requirements internally, but wears the hat of Intel Security Product & Engineering externally. The OEM PPM will work with other PPMs, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and UX teams to improve products and delivery of Intel Security OEM consumer products. The OEM PPM will report to the Director of WW OEM Partner Product Management in the Consumer Business Unit of Intel Security. This individual is expected to effectively serve as a product manager, technical implementation lead, and account manager.
To achieve joint OEM partner and Intel Security program goals, the OEM PPM is required to resolve problems and remove obstacles that may diminish business success by demonstrating strong communication, coordination, and creative problem solving expertise. The OEM PPM will work on a range of diverse partner implementation projects, requiring the detailed definition of product requirements (PRDs), technical and product account management, and the engagement of appropriate Intel Security resources including business development, project management, application engineering, release engineering, web services, and customer/technical support.
The OEM PPM will also be responsible for providing pre-sales guidance and is expected to understand the current product offering set and deployment models as well as the road map future product releases. The OEM PPM will provide pre-sales support by having a diverse knowledge of product release management and best practices from successful partnerships. The OEM PPM must also provide product knowledge and support through the life cycle of the partnership.
The OEM PPM will possess a diverse skill-set, including both a technical understanding of consumer security software (anti-virus, identity, password management, biometrics) solutions and marketing expertise.
Excellent written, presentation, analytic, and program management skills are required to manage the day-to-day operations of a partnership portfolio. The PPM role includes researching, validating, and prioritizing implementation requirements, documenting market and product requirements, and evangelizing the partner and channel requirements within the internal organizations.
The OEM PPM will manage and analyze ongoing business relationships in tandem with Business Development Managers and Marketing Managers to optimize registrations, trial-to-paid conversions, and up-sells; as well as support data analysis for customer retention and customer experience improvements.
Language and Presentation Skills:
Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is a must for all assignments. Good presentation skills are required to both technical and non technical audiences that range from engineers to executives.
Education and Experience- Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent degree. Some business, program management, and/or account management background highly recommended. ~5-8 years work experience in Security, Software, and/or PC Hardware sector.
