The Independence, OH office of Farmers Group, Inc. seeks a Sr. Predictive Analyst to contribute to the development and implementation of predictive analytics through the application of advanced statistical and analytical techniques in order to deliver data driven insights supporting business objectives, under minimal supervision.

Specific responsibilities include: use appropriate modeling techniques to address business needs; Broaden knowledge and application of advanced modeling techniques and procedures; Develop various programs including predictor and response variable programs; Review programs to ensure they conform to quality standards; Support preparation of internal/external, structured/unstructured data sets to build/rebuild/refresh predictive models; Communicate models to other modelers; Contribute to the development of new modeling techniques and procedures; Supervises staff of Predictive Analysts; and Contribute to the continuous improvement of the modeling process.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a closely related field, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a Predictive Analyst, or similar position.

Experience must include at least 2 years of experience with each of the following: reviewing SAS programs to ensure they conform to quality standards; supporting preparation of internal/external, structured/unstructured data sets to build/rebuild/refresh predictive models; Editing and running predictor and response variable programs; applying various modeling techniques and procedures: linear and non-linear multivariable regression, regression trees, clustering, spatial analysis, survival analysis; performing model testing against established standards; working with model application and implementation; working with programming and database tools such as SAS, C++, Python, SQL and Java; and working with advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques such as machine learning, decision trees, probability networks, association rules, clustering, regression, and neural networks and their application to business decisions. Must also have 2 years of experience working in the insurance field.
