Responsibilities:

The Sr. Project Manager, eCommerce is responsible for leading a team of project managers in the successful on-time and on-budget delivery of medium and large scale projects within the Marketing Technology lane at Office Depot

Working as a key member of the Marketing Technology team within E-Commerce Marketing and reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Technology, this person will be responsible for coaching and mentoring a team of Project Managers in all elements of the Project Management discipline as well as Marketing Technology best practices.

This person must combine very strong Project Management skills, a proven ability to provide coaching and mentoring to other project management resources and an ability to "dive deep" when it comes to troubleshooting specific marketing technologies and how they are being used within the enterprise.

This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is not afraid to work directly with specific marketing technology tools and assess the necessary level of process required to support their effective use.

As such, this person must have experience working to evolve the marketing technology within a large Fortune 500 enterprise, and should have exposure in areas that include marketing attribution and optimization, omni-channel campaign management, tag management, personalization, marketing automation, demand side platforms, ad serving, Web and marketing analytics, CRM, data management platforms, content management, mobile marketing and social marketing.

S/he will coordinate the activities of multiple cross-functional teams to complete projects in support of business strategy and objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for working with business and IT teams across the organization, including E-Commerce and Central Marketing, E-Commerce Technology, IT, and Product Management groups. They will also be responsible for managing external third party vendors when their involvement is necessary.

  • Guide others in the use of the elements of the project management discipline as applied to Marketing Technology projects: Integration; scope; Time; Cost; Quality; Human Resources; Communications; Risk Management; Procurement
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the proper use of marketing technology in key areas, including: Marketing attribution and optimization; Omni-channel campaign management; Tag management; Personalization; Marketing automation tools; Demand side platforms; Ad serving; Web and marketing analytics; CRM; Data management platforms; Content Management; Mobile Marketing; Social Marketing
  • Manage the end to end implementation of specific projects that drive the evolution of Office Depot's ecommerce digital marketing and omni capabilities as a hands-on project manager.Closely monitor the health of all projects under their responsibility, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Work with key e-commerce marketing stakeholders to evolve the current level of process and governance in key areas by modeling the current state processes and making specific recommendations on how to improve them
  • Responsible for driving all project planning and setup activities, including driving project staffing as well as scheduling
  • Manage cross-functional resources both within Office Depot as well as external contractors to ensure that all resources understand the project context, what is expected of them and meet expectations
  • Manage external third party vendors where needed, ensuring that they meet their contractual obligations in terms of the products and services provided


Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.



Other Information:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in related field
  • Experience in Project Management, Marketing Technology Subject Matter Expertise, Expertise coaching and leading other project managers.
  • Experience working for large, enterprise-class companies
  • Proven ability managing projects which involve the implementation of specific marketing technologies in an enterprise context
  • Demonstrated experience providing coaching and guidance to a team of project managers
  • Beprocess orientation with a keen attention to detail
  • Given the cross-functional and cross-departmental nature of the role,leadership skills and the ability to influence resources who are not members of their direct team is necessary
  • Experience managing agile development projects
