A Sr Quality Assurance (QA) Lead job inBoise,IDis available courtesy of Adecco Engineering and Technical. As a qualified candidate you will have a BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline and a minimum of five years of software quality assurance experience, including two years in a lead role or management position. You will be responsible for providing the supervision, technical guidance and direction to the QA staff in the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of applications. Also, you will be responsible for developing and managing quality assurance metrics including application performance data.
Quality Assurance (QA) Lead job responsibilities include:
Lead, coordinate, and contribute to QA efforts
Main point person for bug triage
Develop and establish testing plans
Manage all of the testing and manage other QA testers
Responsible for implementing and running: manual tests, performance tests, load tests, unit tests, automated UI tests,
Provides necessary definition, development and deployment of the product quality assurance strategy
• Directly supervises Quality Assurance Engineers and Testers
Plans and executes product testing efforts, including all associated resources, to meet committed delivery dates
Develops and implements an automated test strategy to minimize manual test efforts and improve test effectiveness
Ensures Test Cases are comprehensive and consistently followed
Effectively communicates metrics, issues, objectives, initiatives and performance
Assures the viability, functionality and effectiveness of essential tools
Ensures delivery of QA department goals and objectives; meets commitments and coordinates overall quality assurance schedule
Implements ongoing quality improvement processes, working with interdepartmental teams
Maintains product consistency throughout product cycle, to include the design, define and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing
Manages and responds to Software Quality Assurance issues with related groups such as Development, Database, Integration, and Customer Support
Works with Project Managers to develop project schedules and resource allocation models for QA-related projects and other activities
Develops, manages and publishes quality assurance metrics, including application performance data to improve team performance
Strong analytical skills and experience with implementation and administration of Software Quality Assurance metrics, such as defect profiles and performance to entry/exit criteria
Excellent problem solving, interpersonal communication and project management skills a must
Strong leadership skills that inspire team confidence and respect while motivating team members in a creative and effective manner
Knowledge of internet and e-business processes, disciplines and standards
BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline
Experience working in an Agile environment
Be willing to be in control of the process and set direction
Be willing to perform the actual testing work - currently we only have one QA Engineer (offsite) so assign work to, but that could grow over time
Have experience writing unit tests in .net would be great, but not required.
Also experience with Team Foundation (TFS) would be highly desirable.
A minimum of five years' of software quality assurance experience, to include a 2 years in a lead role or management position
Experience with Windows/SQL/.NET/SaaS/XML/EDI C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Team Foundation Server
Strong understanding of different software development life cycles (waterfall, iterative, agile, SCRUM) and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools
Must have experience in managing and working with distributed team members
