Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) Department of Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics seeks a scientist who wants to be a successful drug hunter in the areas of oncology biologics discovery (e.g., cancer immunotherapeutics, antibody drug conjugates, etc.). The selected individual is expected to represent the Department on drug discovery working groups and early clinical development teams in the area of pharmacokinetics (PK)/pharmacodynamics (PD) to improve drug candidate designs, define differentiation strategies, and apply modeling and simulations to facilitate translational PK/PD efforts. The individual is also expected to take mechanistic approaches to better understand drug disposition profiles and target pharmacology, a foundation that is crucial to our success in predicting human pharmacokinetics and efficacious dose of novel drug candidates and modalities. At BMS, we take pride in applying model-based approaches for the quantitative integration of PK/PD/efficacy/toxicity data in order to broadly impact on drug discovery and development processes. A sound understanding of PK and PD principles and hands-on experience in modeling and simulation are critical to this role. Ultimately, the selected candidate is expected to provide scientifically sound approaches and data for effective decision-making and enable advancement of drug candidates into clinical development.
• A Ph.D. in pharmacokinetics or other related discipline, with 3- to 5-year industrial experience, is required.
• A sound understanding of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic principles and demonstrated problem-solving skills are essential to this job.
• Hands-on modeling experience is a requirement.
• In addition, strong communication skills and ability to work and collaborate in a multi-discipline team setting are required for this function.
