Sr. Revenue Analyst (Revenue & Software Recognition)
The Sr. Revenue Analyst manages the technical accounting activities for a region and will be a key member of the Finance team primarily responsible for technical accounting conclusions and documentation for revenue recognition under US GAAP as well as lead the tracking, recording and reporting of global professional services revenue. This will include working with the Professional Services organization to ensure accurate project data and timelines are maintained, goals achieved and required reporting and documentation is maintained. This candidate should be familiar with rules including **ASC 985-605, ASC 605-25, ASU 2009-13 and ASU 2009-14** . This will include deal reviews and reconciliations as well as technical analysis of revenue issues and accounting pronouncements. The candidate will work with the deal desk, sales and professional service teams and management to evaluate revenue recognition issues and exposures to determine proper accounting treatment. The completion of these tasks will result in sales orders being processed in accordance with VCE revenue recognition standards which ensure proper SEC compliance.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Provide technical expertise and guidance for revenue issues
+ Be a key member in the audit process for revenue
+ Lead the process of evaluating and claiming professional services revenue on a monthly basis, including research on unique and complicated services arrangements
+ Prepare all Professional Services reporting and analysis as part of the monthly and quarterly close cycle.
+ Review order documents for bookings and prepare deal reviews to ensure that criteria for revenue recognition criteria has been met.
+ Completes ad hoc requests and analysis of financial data as needed
+ Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal customers and cross functional internal departments in order to manage information and the timely resolution of issues
+ Demonstrates fundamentals of professional behavior including accountability and an appropriate sense of urgency
+ Ability to take ownership of Services Accounting driving month end and daily activities to conclusion and ultimate recognition as part of the month end close process.
+ Demonstrate an ability to work independently and within a group acting as the subject matter expert
+ Strong analytical skills while maintaining data integrity and a sharp attention to detail
+ Be familiar with Revenue accounting principles contained in ASC 605, ASC 985 and related guidance
+ Ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise format
+ Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of multiple variables
+ Strong customer service and teamwork skills
+ Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables
+ Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (especially Excel)
+ Strong oral and written communication skills across various levels of the organization.
+ Prior Big 4 or medium tier audit firm experience preferred
+ 3-5 years working in a fast paced accounting environment
+ Knowledge of revenue/software revenue recognition and related concepts including fair value analysis
+ CPA and/or MBA preferred (may be pursuing)
+ RevPro and/or SAP experience, highly preferred
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Candidates will experience in billing, collecting and/or accounts receivable would not qualify unless you also have experience in revenue and software recognition.
