This role will offer a great learning opportunity by empowering the Payment Specialist to develop relevant skills, and providing visibility into several departments and functions within MetLife.



  • Calculates, adjusts, and processes compensation/ commission payments for agents and brokers in an accurate and timely fashion; researches, determines, calculates, and processes necessary adjustments 
  • Receives and responds to inquiries and complaints from the agents and brokers regarding payments 
  • Provides periodic and ad hoc reporting, referring complex inquiries to higher level personnel
  • Analyzes and reconciles simple to moderately complex discrepancies, which require the collection and review of payment histories to locate missing payments and/or locate errors; tracks and reports all exceptions
  • Maintains and revises procedures as needed to ensure proper documentation exists. 
  • Performs monthly and quarterly manual compensation reconciliations. 


  • Minimum of six months of customer service experience required
  • 1+ years of commissions experience required
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred,  or equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate excel skills are required
  • Strong mathematical skills and analytical aptitude
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
