The National Accounts Sales Support team provides direct support to National Accounts Account Executives (AEs) who are responsible for selling group insurance products and services for the 5,000+ employee life market segment.  Primarily focused on pre-sale activities such as prospecting, requests for proposals (RFPs) and sales reporting, the Sales Support team aids the AEs in most strategically leveraging their skills and time.  With the AE, and by prioritizing and developing strategies and solutions to meet the needs of this market space, National Accounts will meet and exceed its growth targets and customer centricity goals.
 

 

  • Maintain in depth knowledge and understanding of assigned AEs’ books of business to represent the AE with customers and brokers. 
  • Analyze and interpret reports and data to make constructive recommendations to AE on market and customer specific strategies.
  • Partner with internal business partners to implement decided sales growth and awareness strategies as well as employee marketing communication plans.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on product plan design, pricing and requirements.
  • Build and manage broker relationships.
  • Manage Account Executive Account Plans, Opportunities and Activities in Salesforce.com, ensuring  data integrity.
  • Participate in the development of MetLife’s response to RFPs and finalist presentations.
  • Implement strategic solutions to grow voluntary product participation.
  • Partner with service teams to assist with customer presentations (annual and on-going), finalize renewals and implement marketing and growth strategies (1st and 2nd sale).
  • Mentor other members on the team and new hires.
  • May act as primary point of contact in manager’s absence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 + years of relevant business experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of group insurance products and sales process
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and ability to learn how to operate new systems easily
  • Exceptional communication skills – written and oral, with ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels within an organization
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
  • Excellent presentation skills
