Sr. Shopper Marketing Manager - Target DSD

Position Purpose:
The Senior Shopper Marketing Manager for Target DSD, leads trimester and annual commercial planning for one of Coca-Cola's largest and most strategically important customers, Target Inc. This position includes leading all pillar marketing, sparkling innovation big bets [i.e. coke with food, summer, holiday, refreshment OBBO, etc].
  • Leads and manages the DME/SMF and merch materials planning and implementation include ROI/PPA tool and monthly financial routines.
  • Champion 3-year shopper marketing vision across customer portfolio
  • Provides Shopper Marketing SME support for portfolio of customers and leads commercial planning process with customer team.
  • Advances key shopper marketing capabilities - e.g., messaging, in-store media (being in touch with emerging marketing techniques and tools like online coupons)
  • Support Strategic Alliances and relationships with non-competing CPG companies for Bundling Plans
  • Stewards internal learning/opportunities and operating routines - internal best practices, external best practices/speakers
  • Forward Planning for Company's Primary Engagement Center with Customers - KO Lab
Advances key shopper marketing capabilities
  • Provides Shopper Marketing SME support for top customer engagements
  • Advances key shopper marketing capabilities - e.g., messaging, in-store media (being in touch with emerging marketing techniques and tools like online coupons)
  • Cultivates internal and external relationships to enhance shopper marketing capability across KO system
  • Serves as resources for Channel Shopper Marketing Lead in advancing Channel Shopper Marketing Capabilities
  • Stewards internal cross-channel learning/opportunities and operating routines - internal best practices, external best practices/speakers
  • Leverages industry and competitive analysis to identify candidates for building partnership relationships
  • Builds business case for pursuing key partnership relationships with non-competing CPG companies, based on shopper buying patterns.
  • Maintains agreements for mid- to long-term strategic agreement
  • Evaluates effectiveness of partnerships and opportunities for additional bundling plans within partnership agreements on on-going basis
People Leadership & Development
  • Organizational effectiveness - lead sessions with team to enhance effectiveness and employee engagement on on-going basis
  • Employee engagement - seek out opportunities to enhance employee engagement

  • Focus on building shopper marketing expertise within team, as well as building shopper marketing capability across larger CCR business/organization

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree
Preferred Level: MBA or other graduate degree
Minimum Experience Required:
  • 5 years of experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry
  • People leadership/management - specifically, experience leading leaders of others (leading organization with deep functional expertise)
  • Leadership across multiple customers
  • Experience in Developing Shopper Marketing Strategies and Plans
Preferred Level:
  • 7 years of experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry
  • Extensive Marketing and Sales Experience (particularly in area of Shopper Marketing)
  • Customer/Sales management experience
  • Brand management experience
Minimum Required:
  • Planning experience; strategic thinking (forward-looking vision and anticipating of future needs)
  • Proven track record for delivering sustainable result
  • Collaborating with brand/category teams and other key internal/external stakeholders; effective in influencing wide variety of stakeholders, particularly in situations where Commercial leadership may have accountability for doing the work but may not have control over all decisions impacting the work
  • Effectively communicates & builds relationships at all organizational levels
  • Strong change management capabilities
  • Propensity for creative problem-solving and opportunity identification (to improve service to rest of business/customer engagement)

Preferred Level:
  • Experience building and monitoring annual business plans
  • Shopper insights, category management and shopper marketing experience
  • Demonstrated reputation for customer engagement with ability to drive mutual business results.
  • Experience/comfort establishing external relationships - e.g., w other CPG companies
