Role Summary/Purpose

Global resource management an organizational strategy & operations function within the Power Digital customer success organization. The global resource manager ensures the optimal and effective use of the software staff (and often partners & contractors) by matching their capabilities and skills to strategic initiatives, customer projects, staffing plans, and requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

The global resource manager is the go-to source for project

and program managers who need individuals with various software services skills

assigned in order to fulfill the region's staffing plans for initiatives. The

global resource manager maintains information about individual staff

assignments, expected start/end dates, allocations of total available time and

roles filled. Actual usage versus planned usage for each initiative is tracked,

and major variances are escalated.

* Monitoring and either taking direct action or escalating in

cases involving the optimal and effective usage of the entire cadre of

resources, specific roles, and/or sets of capabilities.

* Reporting instances of underuse/overuse - and/or variations

from agreed-on plans - of resources to leadership, together with

recommendations for specific actions or remedies.

* Collecting individual job performance data at the end of

initiative assignments from colleagues, business partners and others, for use

as input during resource planning reviews.

* Maintaining or contributing to future-oriented workforce

management activities in order to forecast growing (or shrinking) resource

staff numbers, the need for new and changed capabilities and skill sets, and/or

the decline in use of current capabilities and skills.

* Develop and maintain - often in cooperation with human

resources - a "set" of software services roles, role descriptions,

responsibility matrices, capability models, required skills and abilities

mapped to projects' and programs' life cycles, organizational support activities,

methods and practices, and approaches to software provisioning and

business-as-usual sustainment.

* Develop and maintain - often in sophisticated software

program and portfolio management (PPM) or resource management tools - a

framework to track (over time) individual assignments/role assignments to

specific projects, programs and other structured work activities.

* Define and use a resource request and assignment process

that receives, analyzes and offers available staff members (together with data

about their individual capabilities and recent project performance history) for

selection by requesting that project and program (and sometimes line) managers

staff organizational initiatives and activities with software services staff

members and contractors.

* Maintain and make visible various timely and accurate

analyses of the current and projected states of assignment, consumption and

availability of all software services staff members with the abilities and

skills appropriate for work on projects and programs.

* Provide management and leadership with agreed-on software

services resource reports and advisories that are timely and accurate to

support governance activities around the selection, prioritization, strategic

and organizational planning, and execution oversight of initiatives.

* Define needed inputs, input sources, "ownership,"

time frames, and actual data content required to maintain and report

"actual time worked data" compared with "planned time

worked" data. Identify and track variances and trends, and also apply

leadership-defined criteria for escalation and action required when confronted

with poorly maintained conformance to agreed-on numbers, roles and use of

skills for assigned IT resources.

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

* A bachelor's degree in IT, software engineering, general,

business, project, human resources and/or supply chain management.

* At least seven years of experience in one or more of the

following areas: recruiting, business or IT/software/services management,

staffing/placement, resource management, IT/software/services consulting or

professional services, IT/software/services project or program management.

Eligibility Requirements:

* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for

employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.

* Must be willing to travel.

* Must be willing to work out of an office located in San

Ramon, CA or Atlanta, GA.

* Experience dealing with third-party suppliers and a

* Experience managing or influencing a global team

* Overall general management abilities and experience with

assembling, analyzing, recommending, escalating, reporting, and explaining

various kinds of metrical, graphical, situational, interpersonal, and other

issues and risks surrounding resources to management and senior leadership

* Typical and expected familiarity with enterprise resource

management tools and software, like ERP, SAP, ServiceMax, etc.

* The ability to think outside the box - understanding essence

of what is being requested from an overall organizational perspective, and

responding to the spirit of the request with workable resource options &

alternatives
