Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure team is building new Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) technologies that operate at high scale in a broadly distributed multi-tenant cloud environment. Our customers run their businesses on our cloud, and our mission is to provide them with best in class compute, storage, networking, database, and security, along with an expanding set of foundational cloud-based services.

Oracle Identity and Security Services team is building a set of highly available and scalable Identity, Authentication, Authorization and Auditing (IAAA) services offered by Oracle Public Cloud. We are looking for a software development engineer who is technically strong, with knowledge in both large-scale distributed system development and application of cryptographic concepts within these systems. In this role you will be part of a team that will deliver a V1 service designed to control access to Oracle's IaaS cloud environment.

If you are passionate about solving difficult problems in large-scale, highly available, and globally distributed systems and are excited about starting something from scratch, this is the job for you. As a Software Engineer, you will work with a team of developers responsible for the development for major components of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure. You should be a distributed security systems generalist with hands-on experience and ability to dive into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Basic Qualifications:
• 4 years software development experience
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available, globally distributed systems
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through launch of the project
• Proficient in object orientated programming languages such as C or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals
• Knowledge of security and cryptography design and practices; including encryption standards, digital signatures and certificates, PKI, and key exchange mechanisms
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience building identity and access management solutions within distributed systems a strong plus
• Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies
• Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures

Qualifications:
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
