You will be responsible for programming a component, feature and or feature set. Works independently and contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across business. You will also contribute to design discussions.
In this role, you will:
+ Be hands-on and would have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging problems in the digital industrial space.
+ Be responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment
+ Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards
+ Drive increased efficiency across the teams by building reusable frameworks where appropriate.
+ Support process improvements which guide the development, sustaining & support activities
+ Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products
+ Engage subject matter experts for complex domain knowledge
+ Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project
+ Understand performance and scalability parameters and build systems appropriately.
+ Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen
+ Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness
Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
+ A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in building large-scale, enterprise-wide application OR Master's degree with 3 years of experience in building large-scale, enterprise-wide applicationEligibility Requirements:
+ Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
+ Must be willing to travel (15%)
+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
+ Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and coding principles
+ Experience with Java, Go or Python programming languges
+ Contributed to or maintain open source projects
+ Hands-on experience in writing web services (REST, OAuth etc.),
+ Experience with SQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL etc., and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Risk, Couchbase etc.
+ Experience stream processing engines like Storm, Spark Streaming etc. preferred
+ Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
+ Experience with Big Data / Hadoop and NoSQL databases is a big plus
+ Experience working in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP) or a containerized environment (Mesos, Kubernetes)
+ Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
+ Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
+ Ability to takes ownership of small and medium sized tasks and deliver while mentoring and helping team members
+ Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills\#DTR
