Sr. Software Engineer - Assurance

The Software Engineer Senior will develop forms and tools for the assurance practice and perform testing of these auditing and business templates. This position will develop critical product for our auditors as well as working collaboratively with the IT department. 

The Software Engineer Senior requires a broad knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of software development, including designing, debugging, unit testing, which are the core responsibilities of this role. The role is expected to work under moderate supervision while making sound decisions, including analysis and design, and own the resolution of the issue through implementation, to effectively deliver high quality products that exceed our auditor’s expectations. The role requires continuous growth of technical, business, and people skills as well as producing documentation that complies with development standards.

  • Construction and unit testing of forms on various platforms including, web, desktop, and client server. Uses available technologies to create reusable, extendable, and maintainable systems and components.
  • Analysis of requirements, implementation and change requests into forms and tools for the assurance practice.
  • Communication with project team members including assisting QA with testing of software, assist tech lead and project management with estimation, planning, and project status, and assistance with identifying project issues and risks
  • Review, validation, and interpretation of business and non-functional requirements. Interaction with Business Analysts and Business contacts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, equivalent work history/experience or working towards achieving a degree
  • 2+ years professional experience in software development required
  • Experience of Agile development processes
  • Experience with CaseWare software or other template design software
  • Experience with MadCap products, including Flare or Contributor softwares
  • Experience with Sharepoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong attention to detail

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MadCap products, including Flare or Contributor softwares
  • Experience with Sharepoint
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network and directory services required
  • Ability to foster a team environment where all members are encouraged to be part of the solution and leadership
