Senior Software QA Engineer, Advanced Software Division - Photon
Work with a team that is providing a turnkey private cloud-in-a-box that provides an open source platform for cloud native/platform 3 applications. It delivers web-scale, self-scaling, self-resilient
application infrastructure for a secure, elastic private cloud.
Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of methods to test and troubleshoot newly developed or redesigned products. Assignments include planning tests, system configuration, conducting tests, reviewing product documentation, and documenting results of tests. Perform development and execution of software/hardware quality methods and processes. Perform installations and run quality assurance tests, identify, reproduce, and report defects. Develop acceleration and analytical methods and processes to enhance and ensure the reliability and quality of new and existing products. Analyze failure reports and make recommendations to improve existing quality assurance processes.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
+ Work in an Agile (Scrum) engineering development environment.
+ Execute good judgment to ensure the use of correct test procedures, able to design ad-hoc tests.
+ Develop, test, & implement quality assurance plans & evaluate quality standards, with minimal general direction.
+ Analyze test results, pro-actively seeks solutions, recommend corrective action.
+ Detail oriented
+ General knowledge and application of engineering concepts

+ Working knowledge of Linux
+ Shell scripting, REST APIs, Java, Python, test automation
+ VMware virtualization technology
+ Experience with deploying OpenStack/DevStack
+ Experience with deploying Pivotal Cloud Foundry or similar PaaS platforms
+ Experience with VMware Photon
Education Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Experience Required: 3-5 years of prior experience, proven experience in delivering enterprise solutions to market
