As a Sr Staff Software Architect - Data Visualization you will be responsible for visualization architecture & strategy across GE Oil and Gas Digital. You will be focused on designing compelling data dashboards and cutting-edge experiences around analytics and data visualization for IIoT data. You will design techniques to slice and dice, drill in and explode data to allow consumers to understand and make sense of their data across many dimensions.
As the Sr Staff Software Architect - Data Visualization, you will:
+ Architect and design state of the art Data visualization UI/tools for the best of breed cloud applications.
+ Work with product team and guide the engineers in choosing the right tool and methodology for data visualization development.
+ Design cutting-edge data visualization and analytics tools to help communicate quantitative data and tell a story utilizing data to our customers.
+ Responsible for designing and implementing Business Intelligence reporting solutions, including the evaluation of emerging visualization technologies.
+ Responsible for semantics/metadata based development of BI with experience in metadata configuration and implementation.
+ Ensure that the Data visualization is cloud and mobile ready.
+ Work with the Data scientists and Analytic teams to determine the best Visualization technology and build highly performant and interactive visualization UI.
+ Determine the appropriate balance between client side processing and server side processing for every use case.
+ Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms that are service-oriented with reusable components across teams (multiple teams) that can be orchestrated together into different methods for different businesses.
+ Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities to for multiple teams or complex scenarios.
+ Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentors others throughout the domain.
+ BS in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
+ A minimum of 10 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across product lines.
+ With a minimum of 5yrs in developing Data visualization tools.

+ Must be willing to work out of an office located in San Ramon, CA
+ Must be willing to travel roughly 30% of the time
+ Experience with industry-standard visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, OBIEE etc)
+ Demonstrable experience in presenting big data in accessible, accurate and actionable ways.
+ Proven experience in creating rich user interfaces, with a deep understanding of user experience and interaction design.
+ UI Development experience with solid understanding of UI/UX principles using Web Based technologies HTML, Play, CSS, JS, Angular, Java, .net hosted in Cloud environments.
+ Experience with JS unit testing in Jasmine, Qunit or Mocha.
+ Must have experience with Ajax, Restful webservices, profiling and debugging complex next generation single page web applications.
+ Must work closely with the UX team to plan and provide feedback for innovative new designs and feature ideas.
+ Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment
+ Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems
+ Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts
+ Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry trends
+ Leads teams in developing plans and assessing improvement options.
