The professionals selected will be part of a cutting-edge leadership prgm designed to develop & accelerate the next gen of Digital Executives through multi-year prgm. Program members are key in building GE's SW architecture capabilities and graduates will advance into significant SW leadership roles.

Essential Responsibilities:

Key Program Highlights

Provide a multi-year leadership program experience with assignments, projects, & classroom seminars tied to GE's key software initiatives & personalized coaching & development based on technical & leadership areas

Training

+ Attend two GE Digital Academies per year focused on technical, commercial, & leadership skill build-outProjects

+ Work in cross-functional teams tied to GE's strategic initiatives

+ Action learning related to innovative new products and platformsPersonalized Development

+ Exposure to GE Senior Leadership & software peers across the Company

+ Assist in programs to develop, maintain & govern the enterprise architecture across the organization

+ Operate as an expert who leads, consults or oversees multiple architectural projects

+ Work on highly-complex projects that require in-depth knowledge within a domain: technical, solutions, business or informationStrategy

+ Help lead and coordinate the domain & business discussions relative to future architecture direction

+ Participate in enterprise strategy development, including environmental analysis, opportunity identification, value cases and business innovation portfolio development

+ Contribute to the SW development strategy as applicable and ensures alignment with architectural strategy & business goalsRoadmap

+ Analyze, design, & develop a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current v. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint

+ Define principles that guide technology decisions & the relationship between enterprise business context (industry & market trends) and specified technologyCustomer CTQs

+ Review/ analyze & develop architectural requirements

+ Align architectural requirements with software development strategy

+ Assess near term & longer term needs to establish business prioritiesQA

+ Lead/analyze information to evaluate the effectiveness of controls, determine the accuracy of reports, & monitor the efficiency & security of operations

+ Analyze the current architecture to identify weaknesses & develop opportunities for improvementsStandards, Policies and Procedures

+ Support, develop, & communicate domain-wide policies, standards, guidelines

+ Design standard software configurations

+ Promote the EA process, outcomes & resultsCompatibility

+ Ensure compatibility with existing solutions, infrastructure, services, & strategic requirements

+ Manage the design of enterprise-wide initiatives to integrate systemsConsulting

+ Participate in quality reviews & provides feedback

+ Advise on options, risks, costs versus benefits, system impacts, & technology priorities

+ Work with business leaders to understand business requirements & help them understand how technology tradeoffs influence strategy

+ Consult on application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to the technical architecture, & identify when it is necessary to modify the technical/solution architecture to accommodate project needsLeadership/Agile

+ Coordinate architecture implementation & modification activities

+ Assist in post-implementation continuous-improvement efforts to enhance performance & provide increased functionalityResearch & Emerging Trends

+ Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operations

+ Consider potential application and impact to domain's architecture

+ Leverage Agile SW Design principles and Six Sigma DFSS methodologies to drive design efficiency and speed to market

+ Translate new concepts in software methodology into design guidance, develop long term strategy, and drive change and continuous improvement in design practices

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field

+ Minimum of 7 years of software related professional experience

+ Ability and willingness to work in San Ramon, CA for the first year of the program; geographic mobility required after year 1Assignment

+ 12 months in length (2 to 5 assignments)

+ Work tied to GE's software strategy

Desired Characteristics:

+ Experience in software architectures and methods for networking, Internet, consumer, and embedded systems

+ Experience with collaborating across matrices and a demonstrated ability to get different groups synchronized and working effectively

+ Self-starter

+ Ability to make independent decisions and successfully manage conflicting priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

+ Responsive and willing to take ownership of challenging issues to drive solutions
