Essential Responsibilities:

Lead the technical development of the back-end layers of GE's key web platforms and mobile apps. Responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development and infrastructure. Provide guidance to developers with either planning and execution and/or design architecture using agile methodologies such as SCRUM. Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements and vision. Drive increased efficiency across the teams, eliminating duplication, leveraging product and technology reuse. Capture system level requirements by brainstorming with Chief Technical Officer (CTO), Senior Architects, Data Scientists, and Business and Product Managers. Lead impact assessment and decision related to technology choices, design/architectural considerations and implementation strategy. Serve as subject matter expert in processes and methodologies with ability to adapt and improvise in various situations. Lead the architecture and design efforts across the product or multiple product versions and provide expertise in architecting custom solutions off the base product. Provide expertise in core data structures as well as algorithms and implement them using language of choice when necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 10 years of progressively responsible post-Bachelor's degree related experience. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 8 years of related experience. Position also requires 8 years of experience with backend technologies (Java, Node, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Risk or Cassandra); 4 years of experience with designing RESTful web services using JSON; Windows, Unix or Linux based programming; object oriented analysis and design; software design patterns; Java coding or SQL; software build, release and deployment processes; web services (REST, SOAP or WSDL); and databases such as Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL; and 2 years of experience with web development using HTML, CSS, AngularJS, JavaScript or Jquery; and Agile methodologies such as SCRUM.
