Your typical day will include:
l Providing technical assistance to customers and internal teams on the phone, email, and community forums.
l Triage of complex and time critical issues
l Diagnosing, researching, and resolving customer issues and questions.
l Actively contributing to our technical knowledge base, online community, and other technical documentation.
l Working with other Senior Support Engineers to troubleshoot and remedy customer issues.
l Collaborating with Backline and product engineering in identifying product defects, designing solutions, and testing.

u Centralizing the management of a business' server and workstation endpoints.
u Automating the imaging and deployment of endpoints.
u Managing and ensuring patching is done to company standards.
u Managing IT assets, including inventory management and server monitoring.

u Small and medium enterprise level customers.
u Public entities such as schools and government agencies.

You Have:
l A keen analytical mind and advanced problem solving skills.
l Significant experience with issue replication and testing in virtual environments.
l Proven ability to work directly with customers via telephone and email.
l Ability to be a resource for peers, back-line engineers and others at Symantec.
l Desire to improve knowledge resources to help customers and peers.
l Bachelor's degree (preferably a BS in a science or technology) or equivalent work experience.
l Strong working knowledge in Operating System Software (Microsoft Windows Client and Server, Mac, Linux and UNIX)
l Working knowledge of network and system architectures such as servers, databases, load balancers, and routers.
l Prior exposure and ability in reading OS level logs, system logs, and proprietary application logs.

l Language skills other than English.
l Programming skills (TSQL, C#, HTML, Java, Powershell).
