The LinkedIn R&D team is looking for a senior level Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team. The successful candidate will have demonstrated solid leadership skills in executing program and project management engagements. The LinkedIn TPM role is highly diversified and owns initiating, planning and executing intermediate to large scale, cross-functional and company-wide programs. Successful candidates will have demonstrated excellent leadership, as well as superior organizational and communication skills. At this level of professional development, the candidate will be able to articulate and manage all of the interactions and factors that contribute to the successful outcome of major technical programs. In addition, a successful candidate will possess superior business strategy sense, product intuition, and technical understanding to fully integrate with product development teams and contribute at any level of depth. This position will report into technical program management within LinkedIn's engineering team.
Responsibilities: •Support multiple cross-functional technical teams to deliver their objectives in fast-paced and complex programs and projects •Develop strong partnerships with engineering and product management leaders to drive focus on strategic and tactical program objectives •Build strategic relationships with key technology and business leaders to ensure program success •Own and manage teams and individuals in planning and executing roadmaps, releases, and team work backlogs •Lead efforts to identify risks, resolve key project conflicts, and establish appropriate resolution paths •Fill in gaps across roles and functions as needed, be the adaptive problem solver •Provide reporting as necessary on project status, risks, issues and mitigation plans •Create a collaborative work environment that fosters shared understanding, transparency, mastery, autonomy, innovation and continuous learning •Coach and mentor others in best practices of modern planning and execution
Basic Qualifications: •3+ years of full time technical program management experience within an engineering or technical team •B. . degree or better, in a technical field
Preferred Qualifications: •Demonstrated success managing multiple major and concurrent programs •Direct and significant experience working with software engineering leadership, technical teams and individual contributors •Product and business sense or practical product management experience •Passion about being an indispensable part of a great product •Experience in key stakeholder and cross-functional communications •Ability to communicate authoritatively at a sufficient technical depth •A passion to learn new concepts and technologies •Ability to build collaborations and create a community of leadership •Agile coaching and practitioner experience (Scrum, Kanban) with multiple teams •Experience in building all phases of end-to-end product development •Knowledge of Internet client/server social networking applications and systems •2+ years of hands-on software development experience a plus
