Sr. Technical Writer, AML Data Infrastructure and Analysis

The Role: The technical writer for the DIA Portfolio and Governance Management team is responsible for ensuring that Anti-Money Laundering (AML) activities are accurately documented as dictated by policy and regulations. The candidate will work closely with many of the Bank’s AML teams, creating documentation that supports programs, regulations, standards, and compliance requirements. Specific duties include:

  • Write and edit a variety of high-level communication products (decisioning documents, confidential/proprietary memos, closure summaries, whitepapers, and other deliverables) in a timely manner, often with short lead time
  • Develop communication templates leveraging concision, style consistency, standards, proper governance, and adherence to plain language principles
  • Edit, format, and rewrite for content, clarity, and accuracy communication products drafted by associates and contractors, as assigned
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across divisions, particularly management, associates, and subject matter experts (SMEs), to capture and convey complex statistical, technical, regulatory, and operation information
  • Conduct background research, including fact checking, to identify key issues and information gaps in documentation in alignment with the division’s mission
  • Coordinate and track collaborative writing efforts
  • Draft uncredited communication for senior management
  • Make key contributions as a team member in the DIA governance records and information retention planning and implementation process

The Person: We are seeking an individual who has strong attention to detail and communicates effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external customers. The person is familiar with the AML environment and keen to master AML requirements. The candidate must have the ability to extract complex information from subject matter experts across divisions employing interactive dialog, active listening, and demonstrating understanding with plain-language restatement. She/he approaches problems logically and with good judgment. The individual effectively prioritizes work to ensure deliverables are completed on time. We are an existing team that is a rapidly evolving, and the ideal candidate must be open to change, welcome shifting priorities, share ideas with leadership and team members, and be dedicated to improving processes and procedures documentation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification, or Military experience
  • At least 2 years of work experience specializing in writing and in editing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years of work experience specializing in collaborative writing and in editing
  • 1 year of AML industry experience
  • 1 year of project management experience
  • 6 months of Agile experience
