Within Global Technology and Operations (GTO), the centralized TechQA organization, tasked with all software testing, is looking for you to provide technical strategic leadership for the overall Test Delivery organization. You will act as a subject matter expert in the Test Engineering group and you will guide the partnership with employees and vendors in the Test Delivery organization, along with application, infrastructure, and vendor technical leadership to ensure organizational, functional and technical architectural alignment.
The focus of the role posted here is to augment functional and technical leadership, consulting and expertise to projects throughout TechQA to ensure best practices, lessons learned, and new tools and techniques are being applied to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This will entail evaluating multiple testing projects simultaneously during the planning phase, with some follow-up as the projects progress. You will follow a multi-year roadmap in the areas listed below.
DevOps and Agile testing processes and tools
Automation of all types of testing, including mainframe, services, digital, etc.
Test Environment and Test Data Management
Testing Tools Evaluation, Installation and Support
Broad business functional and application knowledge of MetLife systems portfolio
The GTO group is a diverse team of engineers, developers, and business and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to core business challenges within MetLife. TechQA is the consolidated software testing organization within GTO. Test Engineering is a sub-organization of TechQA that acts as a centralized services provider and consultant to the Test Delivery organization.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.
10+ years of systems development, testing and/or business experience or related work experience, software development a plus
In-depth knowledge of infrastructure, testing tools, and variety of testing techniques and methodologies
Appropriate technical certifications desired
Extensive technical skills covering products and technologies knowledge. Sound knowledge of automation, non-functional testing, data and environment management is essential. Strong hands on expertise for automation and few other streams is desired
Good knowledge of current industry wide quality & test processes and practices, tools and techniques - their applicability and impact.
Strong analytical and communication skills
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field preferred
2+ years Project Management experience, PMP desired
