Enterprise Technologies is a new team at LinkedIn that builds products that power LinkedIn's business. We drive technology vision, architecture and design for systems that help the company deliver on major business processes (go-to-market, sales, finance, etc). We deliver products that let our customers do business with us in a seamless world-class way, help grow our top line and increase our efficiency.
We are looking for a driven and passionate engineers on our Enterprise Technologies team. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design & development for business processes, systems, applications, information and data. You will be results driven, coaching teams to deliver software products at the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship.
The ideal candidate will be excited for the challenge to transform and think critically on many computer science disciplines including product design, usability, building APIs, scaling performance, and 24x7 reliability. This position is full-time and based in our Sunnyvale office.
Responsibilities:
• Scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speediness and quality. • Develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7. • Produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration. • Provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wise critical programs. • Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.
Basic Qualifications: • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or 10+ years of related practical experience. • 4+ years experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions. • 4+ years experience programming experience in Java, Javascript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Python, and/or Ruby. "
Preferred Qualifications: • BS with 8+ years of relevant work experience, MS with 7+ years of relevant work experience, or PhD with 4+ years of relevant work experience • Deep knowledge of developing web applications using both front-end and back-end components • Experience building and running in production (24x7 environments) large-scale distributed systems • Ability to work with geographically distributed teams • Expert knowledge of computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design • Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale. • Proven coding skills in Python or JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL, and/or knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming • Experience building web applications and services with IDEs, ant, junit, etc • Experience with relational databases (transactional and non-transactional), database architecture, and distributed transaction management • Experience with SFDC or other CRM will be a plus • Experience in ERP or other back-office applications will be a plus
