As Staff Software Engineer of our world-class software engineering team, you will be an agile architect in building the next-generation enterprise applications, integrations and infrastructure platforms for LinkedIn's Global Technology Solutions Team- including but not limited to: an application and service delivery platform, massively scalable messaging, data storage and replication systems, and a cutting-edge search platform and analytics. You will work and learn among the best, putting to use your experience in distributed technologies and algorithms, your great API and systems-design sensibilities, and your passion for writing code that performs at scale. Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will help scale LinkedIn's GTS Software Engineering team as we continue to experience dramatic growth in our members and the usage of our products with focus in one or more of the areas below:
• Applications and Automation: Design and develop enterprise software application and automation tools to power Global Operations Team, and help develop software to boost business as well as employee productivity. • Search and Analytics: Build and operate the platform that powers Enterprise search at LinkedIn. The goal is to provide and run in 24/7 production environment a platform that enables our employees to find enterprise content, while at the same time remaining constantly available and performant. Build, extend and deploy analytics tools with focus on providing analytics platforms for the enterprise. • Integrations and Infrastructure: A focus on building integrations with both cloud and on premise applications. Work across several verticals within IT and its partners, to connect data, systems and applications to provide leverage and standards. Including but not limited to compute, network, voice, video and other software integrations.
• Provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wise critical programs. • Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity.
Basic Qualifications: • B. . or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in programming experience in Java, Javascript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Python, and/or Ruby. • 5+ years of experience in working with MVC frameworks such as Play, Flask, Spring etc. . • 3+ years of experience in working with relational and nonrelational databases. • 3+ years of experience in API design and development
Preferred Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in building distributed applications. • Experience with Python is a plus. • Strong experience in designing and implementing software that is performant at scale. strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles. strong understanding of building performant and scalable systems. • 2+ years of experience in working with Search technologies like Lucene, SOLR , ElasticSearch etc.
