YOUR MISSION:
 
Responsible for daily management of supplier quality for Integrated Circuits (IC) suppliers. Tracks and manages supplier corrective actions.  May give day to day direction to other SQA staff members.
 
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
 
  • Manages supplier quality to automotive zero defects standards to ensure defective parts/components do not impact PASA/PASMX production or customers.  Will lead day to day team efforts in respective commodities assigned.
  • Directs daily support for supplied component/parts.  Continuously monitors Incoming & Process defective rates for needed supplier improvement.
  • Issues/manages/confirms effective and timely Supplier Corrective Actions (SCA) and status for management review.
  • Evaluates and reports quality effectiveness of new and potential suppliers.  Will act as head auditor on supplier auditors conducted with other less experienced staff. Will review new Integrated Circuits (IC) suppliers for quality, capabilities, and capacity as required.
  • Confirms TS/ISO compliance of supplier quality systems, processes, Statistical Process Control (SPC), inspection, etc.
  • Manages supplier Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP) deliverables including (Production Part Approval Process (PPAP's).
  • Confirms and reports new model readiness for IC suppliers [spec review, lessons learned, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plan, error proofing, pre-production builds, initial parts verification, material certifications, Gauge Repeatability and reproducibility (R&R), capability, Run @ Rate, and capacity plan].
  • Confirms critical supplier mass production ramp up, including early production quality containment program.
  • Responsible for supplier spill containment and/or scheduling and managing off-site rework effort.  May be called upon to manage cross-functional efforts in this area.
  • Actively and urgently develops problematic suppliers and develops timeline for completion of corrective actions or suggests replacement strategy.
  • Confirms supplier adherence to PASA Supplier Quality Manual and Purchasing requirements.
  • Actively benchmarks, improves, and adheres to SQA Quality Systems and Procedures to ensure full compliance to customer and ISO/TS16949 requirements.
  • Coaches and leads less experienced Supplier Quality Engineers in specific tasks.  May review details of less experienced SQE work to provide feedback and improvement ideas.
  • Leads/participates in cross-functional improvement teams/programs to effective resolution and results.
  • Interprets, enforces and complies with Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Prepares reports, charts, graphs, and other statistical information.
  • Will initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications:
MUST HAVES:
 
  • Bachelors' degree in business, management, operations, engineering, technology or quality related field and a minimum of (8) eight years experience in supplier quality required.
  • Previous automotive experience on electrical commodities including ICs required.
  • Must have a good understanding of quality approaches.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes found at Company's suppliers. 
  • Familiarity with structured problem solving using one or more of the following methods: 8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Windows based databases.
