This position will be accountable for the management of Davenport's mobile equipment fleet and be able to provide technical guidance to the Truck mechanics on repairs to all trucks, autoettes, sweepers, kalamazoos, trailers, and over the road vehicles. The duties will include the following: 1. Leasing or renting all mobile equipment for Davenport Works. 2. Analyzing and optimizing lease vs. buy decisions. 3. Analyzing and optimizing rent vs. lease decisions. 4. Analyzing and optimizing the size of the mobile equipment fleet using utilization data, intended equipment usage, and expected downtime. 5. Tracking all mobile equipment including utilization, lease expiration dates, rental expiration dates, ownership, rental and lease costs by department, etc.. to eliminate waste. 6. Writing specifications for all new rented and leased mobile equipment. 7. Managing the equipment to meet the requirements of all Environmental Laws. 8. Provide assistance and expertise to Truck Mechanics on repairs to the fleet. 9. Utilize Oracle by inputting new trucks in the system, generating new PM's, deleting obsolete equipment, and generate PM lists for the Mobile equipment. Essential Knowledge & Skills/Education Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices, systems, Environmental Health & Safety and principles of ABS within span of control. Must successfully demonstrate competencies such as: results orientation; forward thinking; critical thinking / judgment; interpersonal astuteness; excellent communication skills; collaboration (promote teamwork); value diversity. In addition, incumbent must demonstrate and apply conceptual thinking, emotional maturity and intelligence; drive; adaptability; and ability to build ownership, commitment, and consensus as necessary. The ability to work shifts, including weekends.Basic Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years' working experience in operations and managing a large fleet of fork trucks, Heavy equipment and other vehicles.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a managerial position.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
- Proficient in Oracle and MS Office Suite Ability to interpret, analyze and compile data in a user friendly format.
