  • Florida Registered Nurse license is required prior to program start date
  • Self-motivated and strong communication skills required
For more than 59 years, Lake City Medical Center has provided medical care to this community - the home to our patients, our staff and our physicians. The hospital has been named one of the nation's Top Performers on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in America, for three years in a row. Our facility also has been voted by the readers of The Lake City Reporter as the "Best of the Best" Hospital in our community for 15 consecutive years. In addition, we continue to receive high patient satisfaction scores on surveys of our hospital conducted by the Gallup Company.

We realize that in the Florida market a significant number of new nursing graduates are licensed and passed their boards, or waiting for their sit passes to take the NCLEX. However, a shortage of positions for beginning nurses leaves many graduates unemployed or under-employed.

HCA North Florida has partnered with HealthTrust Workforce Solutions (formerly Parallon), a subsidiary of the parent company, HCA - Hospital Corporation of America , offering a range of business and operational solutions, to offer StaRN: Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses - a unique educational opportunity to meet a critical need for specialty nurses in Florida and put new RN graduates to work!
