The IG-Service Suitability Team is responsible for ensuring that both new sales and inforce transactions are appropriate for our clients. This determination is made via an analysis of customer purchases in the context of their investor profile information, investment objectives, and corporate suitability guidelines. The Team also provides support to our agents in the Field by addressing inquiries pertaining to cases which are under suitability review, as well as general questions regarding our suitability program and parameters.
Working under the direction of the Suitability Manager, the Suitability Principal reviews proposed transactions and provides determination as to whether cases may be approved or declined for suitability. He/she provides feedback to our Suitability Representatives based on their approval/declination recommendations and correspondence composition, and serves as a subject matter expert for representatives on the team. The Suitability Associate also monitors customer transactions, and identifies any patterns requiring review by Corporate Compliance. He/she also assists in the resolution of cases that have been escalated by our agents in the Field for heightened review by a Principal. The Suitability Associate also participates in projects designed to improve suitability workflow, compliance and/or communications with the Field. This role can be based in eitehr Dallas, Texas or New York, New York.
• Using administrative systems such as AWF, OnBase, Cyberlife, eBoss, and Workbench, review proposed annuity, life insurance, and mutual fund transactions and provide Principal determination as to whether cases may be approved or declined for suitability, in accordance with our Corporate suitability standards.
• Provide feedback to team representatives based on their suitability recommendations and correspondence composition. Provide coaching on potential improvement opportunities.
• Based on a review of individual cases, reports, and/or our trade blotter, monitor customer transactions and identify any patterns requiring review by Corporate Compliance.
• Assists in resolution of cases that have been escalated by the Field for heightened review by a Principal. Utilizing strong judgment, offer potential alternatives to our agents when handling cases which do not meet our guidelines.
• Contribute towards the advancement of team of team objectives by participating in projects designed to improve suitability workflow, compliance and/or communications with the Field. Relevant projects could include participating in the design and testing of new suitability workflows, drafting a Field News publication designed to remind our agents of important aspects of our suitability and trading programs, and revising our outgoing correspondence and pend notification alerts to ensure their compliance with company brand voice standards.
• Review and update team procedures.
Education - Bachelor Degree
FINRA Series 6 or 7 and 24 or 26 required; Series 53 and/or 4 preferred.
Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in the securities industry with a background in registered annuity products, mutual funds and securities.
