Job Summary:
Shearing of titanium sheets to size based on customer orders. Operate the production equipment in the band saw area, and inspect the sheet material, finished blanks, and the documentation of product and process conformance.

Fundamental Duties:
  • Verify correct lab release is for the order to be sheared
  • Review and understand the production order
  • Ensure stops are properly set
  • Check camber prior to shearing
  • Verify number, grade and gauge, then sign off on Production Order
  • Package and weigh skids of titanium
  • Secure scrap with plastic or metal ties, weighed and bundled. Identify bundles with grade, gauge and heat number.
  • Complete paperwork
  • Safely operate production equipment which includes all saws and hand tools
  • Safely operate material handling equipment
  • Perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance on the equipment in the work center
  • Perform material and production order transactions in SAP
  • Identify and troubleshoot machine problems
  • Work with Maintenance, Quality Coordinator, and other employees and outside vendors to improve processes and troubleshoot problems
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license
  • Other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.


Preferred Qualifications

Skill & Competency Requirements:
  • Must stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift license
  • Required to read and interpret production orders and safety, operating, maintenance, and procedure manuals
  • Must have basic knowledge of math, math equations and use of various measuring instruments
  • Must work a full-time schedule and overtime as required
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must have problem solving skills, good communication skills, and the ability to work with others
  • Prior experience with inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and scales is preferred but not required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and be able to work with minimal supervision
Training may occur on 1st Shift.
