Sysco offers a paid 10-week summer internship program in which participants are involved in much more than the day-to-day operations of the company.  Interns will be exposed to real projects and challenges in a dynamic company environment designed to give interns real world experiences on what it is like to work at a Fortune 100 company. Sysco's summer 2018 internship program June 4, 2018 and will conclude on August 10, 2018.

Education and / or Experience:

  • Enrolled at an accredited University. Students should have completed their Junior year by Summer 2018 or be enrolled in an Graduate program with any of the following concentration:
    • Animal Science
    • Meat  Science
    • Food Science
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0) preferred.


Job duties may include:

  • Raw material audits
  • Finished produce and packaging checks
  • Pre-op and operational sanitation checks
  • HACCP Monitoring
  • Development of product specifications
  • Participation in customer business reviews and presentations

  • Working on the production floor to learn the processing of meat, seafood, poultry, and prepared foods.

  • With the proximity to Sysco Houston we will include Food Safety tasks associated with receiving, selection, loading, and delivery processes at the distribution operation.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
